Playwrights Workshop of Brevard Mission
Our Mission: Helping new and established local playwrights improve their craft through feedback from members at play readings, and from audiences at community productions, while enriching the local community through premiering original one-act plays.
The next meeting of Playwrights Workshop is 25 October 2008 (Saturday) at 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in Meeting Room-1 of the Cocoa Library. The agenda will be updated here once it is set.
Last Meeting (27 Sep 08): Congratulations to Betty Prisendorf and William Roeder. Their new scripts 'All That Glitters' and 'Good Dog', respectively, were read and approved for production. We also approved the new scrore sheet with a 7-point scale, rather than the previous 5-point scale. Special thanks to Arlan Roop for arranging a meeting room at the Cocoa Elks Club when the Cocoa Library was closed due to a bomb scare. Thank you Elks too! More than most, theater people don't like 'bombs'. :-)
Reminder: The first production of our 2008-2009 season is rapidly approaching. It will be 6-9 November 2008 at he Melbourne Civic Theater in old downtown Melbourne (where the Phoenix Theater used to be). Thursday-Saturday (6-8) are evening shows and Sunda (9 Nov 08) is a matinee. Details to follow.
The next meeting of Playwrights Workshop is 27 September 2008 (Saturday) at 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in Meeting Room-1 of the Cocoa Library. We plan to read two new plays, 'All That Glitters' by Betty Prisendorf and 'Good Dog' by William Roeder. We will also discuss and vote to approve the new proposed audience scoresheet. A copy of the proposed scoresheet is being e-mailed to members for review before the meeting.
Congratulations to Judy Bate. Her script 'The Wayward E-mail' was read at our August meeting and approved for our February production.
